Hammarby just keep winning under Henrik Rydström, and this one was as convincing as it gets. Montader Madjed scored twice, including a screamer that had him running to hug his mom in the stands, as Bajen thumped Degerfors 4-0 at 3Arena to make it three wins on the bounce since the Allsvenskan restarted.
It wasn’t quite as one-sided early on as the final score suggests. Both sides had their moments in a fairly open opening half-hour, chances going both ways, nothing settled. Hammarby gradually took control as the half wore on, though, and Paulos Abraham was involved in both of their best efforts before the opener finally came. First he sent a shot narrowly wide, then he teed up Nahir Besara, whose effort couldn’t get past Degerfors keeper Matvei Igonen. Abraham made no mistake with the next chance that fell his way, though, staying alert to poke home the rebound from Igonen’s save and put Hammarby 1-0 up in the 40th minute.
Bajen Pull Away After the Break
Hammarby carried that 1-0 lead into the break, and Degerfors, according to the home side afterward, looked like a team that had run out of legs earlier than usual. “We noticed they got pretty tired toward the end of the half,” Abraham said at half-time. “They’re usually a bit tired in the second half, but this time it happened early, and that opened things up a little more.”
Whatever the reason, the second half turned into a rout. Victor Lind picked out Madjed with a clever pass and the winger slotted home to make it 2-0. Not long after, Tesfaldet Tekie let fly from distance and found the net to make it three, and from there the game was as good as decided. Madjed wasn’t finished, either. With about 15 minutes left, he curled in a long-range effort that Lind reckoned no goalkeeper in the league could have saved if it was on target, an absolute stunner that made it 4-0 and completed his brace.
Degerfors, who’d already lost their previous two matches heading into this one, never really found a foothold once Hammarby’s second goal went in. There was little they could do to slow down a Bajen side that looked sharper, fitter and considerably more clinical for the whole of the second 45 minutes.
For Hammarby, the win extends Rydström’s unbeaten run as manager of the club, and there’s a growing feeling around 3Arena that this side is building real momentum at exactly the right time. Madjed’s second goal, and the celebration that came with it, summed up the mood, a team playing with real freedom right now.
What’s Next
Hammarby don’t get much time to enjoy this one. They’re in Europa League qualifying action against Anderlecht on Thursday before returning to league business against BP. Degerfors, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back quickly when they face Djurgården in their next Allsvenskan outing, a tough ask after this kind of result.

Conclusion
Degerfors gave as good as they got for the first half-hour, but once Hammarby’s class started to show, there was only ever going to be one winner.
